Alison Gaines leads her own board advisory firm, Gaines Advisory. Established in 2020, the company provides board search and governance services.
Prior to the establishment of Gaines Advisory, Ms Gaines led the Gerard Daniels executive search, board consulting and talent management business in Asia Pacific. She was also practice leader of the board consulting practice at Gerard Daniels since 2006, providing advice to chairs and boards about board performance, composition, strategy and structure, executive and director remuneration, and nominations of chairmen and non-executive directors.
Ms Gaines was chief executive of a law society, and senior executive in government responsible for government boards and committees and the senior executive service.
An active non-executive director, she is also a regular commentator and presenter on corporate governance matters.
Ms Gaines is president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (WA Division) and the INSEAD Global Club for international directors, and a director of the College of Law and Tura New Music.
