Alex Allan is an experienced publishing professional and business leader. She has international board experience and financial responsibility for global teams and products, content development for print and digital, organisation design and people management.
Ms Allan grew up in Perth and moved to the UK where she was the group publisher for Welbeck Children's Books in the UK, and global publisher for DK (Dorling Kindersley) which is a global reference publisher and part of the Penguin Random House Group. After more than 20 years working in the publishing industry. she returned to Perth and has been the associate director of advancement services at the University of Western Australia since March 2021 and as the Children's Publisher for the recently formed Welbeck ANZ. She became chief executive of Fremantle Press in October 2022.
