Alberto Lavandeira has over 38 years of experience operating and developing mining projects. .
He was the chief executive, president and chief operating officer of Rio Narcea Gold Mines (1995-2007), which built three mines including Aguablanca. He was also the director of Samref Overseas SA (2007-2014) and was involved in the development of the Mutanda Copper-Cobalt Mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mr Lavandeira is also chief executive & managing director of Atalaya Mining, owner of the Rio Tinto copper project near Seville in Spain.
