Dr Agu Kantsler has over 45 years of experience in the international and Australian upstream oil and gas industry, including over 20 years in senior leadership positions and 12 years on the boards of several listed and private companies.
Dr Kantsler has been the managing director of Transform Exploration, and spent 15 years at Shell International Petroleum on various international exploration assignments. He had also spent 13 years as executive vice president for exploration and new ventures at Woodside Petroleum; and two years as executive vice president for its health, safety and security practice.
Dr Kantsler was an Adjunct Professor of Geophysics at Curtin University, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia, director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chair of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association.
Dr Kantsler was awarded APPEA’s Reg Sprigg gold medal for service to the industry in 2005, and elected to the Fellowship of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering in 2006.
