Howard PM failed to fight the Greens
How ironic John Howard’s book is titled Lazarus Rising, when it was the former PM who brought the Liberal Party to its knees.
Adam Bandt is an Australian politician, former industrial lawyer and leader of the Australian Greens.
Mr Bandt was elected to the Division of Melbourne in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Parliament of Australia, at the 2010 federal election. He is the first member of the Australian Greens to be elected to the House of Representatives at a general election. He was deputy leader of the Australian Greens in 2017 before being elected Leader in 2020 following the resignation of its former leader Richard Di Natale.
Prior to politics, Mr Bandt was an industrial, labour relations, and public interest lawyer; and a partner at a major national law firm. He had articles published on links between anti-terror legislation and labour laws, and worked on issues facing outworkers in the textiles industry.
In 2008, Mr Bandt completed a PhD in Law and Politics from Monash University.
