Aaron Heary

Aaron Heary has been a strong contributor to forming and executing the wholistic strategic plans and direction of Gage Roads Brewing Co. He was instrumental in developing the “Returning to Craft” strategy (announced in June 2016) that led to Gage Roads once again becoming independently owned. Mr Heary has been with the business for 14 years, commencing as a brewer during the company’s startup stage in 2004 and quickly advanced to become head brewer then general manager of operations in 2009, chief operating officer in 2014, and chief strategy officer in 2018. He was promoted to executive director overseeing strategy, brand and hospitality in February 2023.

Mr Heary has over 21 years of experience in the liquor industry including domestic and international appointments at Devils Lair Winery WA, Steamworks Brewery Vancouver BC Canada, and was the founding brewer for Little Creatures in Fremantle.

Mr Heary has an intimate knowledge of the brewing industry and is a qualified beer judge as well as being vice president of the Western Australian Brewers Association.

He completed a Master of Business Administration from the Curtin Graduate School of Business and a Diploma in Brewing and Packaging through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling London.
