Summit is the local energy arm of Tokyo-based Sumitomo Corporation. The company has a share of two major generating entities in the WA south west interconnected system- Bluewaters Power and NewGen Power Kwinana.
The Bluewaters plants are co-owned with Kansai Electric Power, and are located approximately 180 km south of Perth. That facility has two coal fired generators with a total output of 416 megawatts.
Summit purchased of a stake in Newgen in 2009. That business runs the 320MW Kwinana natural gas fired combined cycle power plant.
