The Sarich Neuroscience Research Institute which is named after the philanthropic Western Australian Sarich family was opened in April 2017. The Institute, located on the QEII campus will accommodate five of the State’s premier neurological research organisations: Curtin University’s Neuroscience Research Laboratory, the Ear Science Institute of Australia (ESIA), the Australian Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science, and the Neurofinity Surgical NeuroDiscovery Group. The Sarich family’s private company, Cape Bouvard Investments has provided medical research funding exceeding $70 million since its foundation in 1986. The philanthropic trust voluntarily revoked its charity registration in 2020, presumably as it had become inactive following the completion of the institute's construction.
