Kwinana Energy Recovery is a waste-to-energy facility in Kwinana. Previously called Avertas Energy, it was originally a co-development between Macquarie Capital and Phoenix Energy and owned by Macquarie Capital and Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF). It also received support from the Australian Government through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC).
Construction of its Kwinana plant commenced in March 2019.
In 2024, the project's contractor Acciona acquired the it from Macquarie and DIF.
