Formed in 1995, the International Business Council of Western Australia (IBC) was originally founded as the umbrella body for bilateral Chambers of Commerce and International Business Associations in Western Australia. In 2009, the membership was expanded to include corporate and individual membership.

The essential role of the IBC was to encourage and facilitate communications and co-operation among its members and provide additional contact and networking opportunities for all categories of memberships.

The International Business Council ceased operations in 2016.
