Gryphon Minerals Limited engaged in the exploration and development of mineral projects in west Africa. The company explored for gold, copper, and iron ores. Its principal project was the Banfora gold project, which comprised approximately 6 exploration licenses covering an area of 1,200 square kilometers located in the south-west of Burkina Faso. The company also had exploration projects in Mauritania and Côte d'Ivoire. Gryphon ceased activities in October 2016, after the completion of a takeover by Canadian company Teranga Gold.
