Perth-based rail maintenance services business Gemco Rail has been awarded two contracts worth $5 million for the maintenance of trains on Perth's metropolitan railway network.
The underserviced and ageing rail infrastructure in the eastern states has created an attractive market opportunity for niche wagon and rail maintenance player Gemco Rail Pty Ltd, based in Forrestfield.
Engineering and rail services company Coote Industrial Ltd plans to acquire Forrestfield-based Gemco Rail Pty Ltd for $33.8 million in a cash and scrip deal.
