Founded in 1905, Etex is a Belgium-based family-owned global building materials manufacturer and pioneer in lightweight construction.
In March 2024, Etex acquired West Australian construction materials company BGC’s plasterboard and fibre cement businesses, with plans to expand its sustainable activities in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The acquisition includes BGC’s plasterboard plant in Western Australia – a 56,000 square metre facility located in Perth - and a strong network of nine warehouses across 24 sites in Australia and New Zealand.
In Australia, Etex has manufacturing facilities in Bundaberg, QLD (plasterboard); Matraville, NSW (plasterboard); Altona, VIC (plasterboard and compounds); Perth, WA (plasterboard); Beenleigh, QLD (metal); and Adelaide, SA (Promat passive fire protection and high-temperature insulation)..
