Empire Oil and Gas NL, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas in Australia. It has interests in Perth, Carnarvon, and Canning basins in Western Australia.
On September 15 2017 the company’s subsidiary, Empire Oil Company (WA) Limited went into voluntary administration. On September 28 Empire Oil and Gas NL itself appointed voluntary administrators, along with wholly-owned Empire Services Pty Ltd, following a notice of demand received from Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) on 26 September 2017. Ferrier Hodgson were appointed as administrators in each of these cases.
In November 2017, Mineral Resources acquired of all of the assets of Empire Oil & Gas NL including the Red Gully Processing Facility and all of its petroleum exploration tenure.
The Transaction, which completed on 8 November 2017, was undertaken pursuant to a Deed of Company Arrangement (DOCA) approved by creditors of EGO on 2 November 2017.
The company was delisted from the ASX in April 2020.
