Empire Beer Group was listed in 2007 and became Smart Parking via a reverse takeover in 2011. It owned the Colonial Brewing Co and the Royal Bar in East Perth from 2006 until 2008. At listing it had an impressive board led by chair Mel Ashton, CEO Phillip Gallagher, investment banker Ian Macliver, hospitality entrepreneur Kate Lamont and lawyer Phil Lucas.
