Established in 1974, El Caballo is one of Western Australia's most internationally recognised resorts. The Resort was founded by Perth businessman Ray Williams and is known as the foundation home of the Andalusian horse in Australia.
The buildings of El Caballo exhibit traditional Spanish architecture and while some improvements have been made over the years, the charm and mystique of El Caballo Blanco remains.
In April 2020, El Caballo Blanco Resort and Lifestyle Village was sold to Aboriginal Housing Foundation (AHF) and will be repurposed to become a social housing facility for indigenous Australians. AHF was established by South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council as a co-trusteeship between Equity Trustees and Aboriginal Housing Recovery Centre Limited.
