Strickland Metals has identified a new structure at its Millrose gold project near Wiluna highlighting the possibility of a secondary high-grade deposit after receiving final assays from its 2022 drill campaign. The company says the recently identified Millrose West structure located about 200m west of the main Millrose deposit is open to the north and south and is traceable using geophysics data over around 5km.

Empire Energy has wrapped up a successful round of hydraulic stimulation at its Carpentaria-3H gas well in the Northern Territory’s revered Beetaloo sub-basin. According to the company the program’s total outlay of $17.3 million is roughly $3.6 million under its initial projections and is delivering results across each of the 40 planned stages of a 1989m section of the horizontal well bore.

Adriatic Metals has unearthed another batch of thick, high-grade massive sulphide mineralisation at its Rupice Northwest orebody - an extension of its Rupice multi-commodity deposit in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Diamond drilling at the site returned a broad 45.9 metre hit going 701 grams per tonne silver equivalent about 225m north-west of the company’s 12 million tonne resource grading 149 g/t silver, 1.4 g/t gold and 4.1 per cent zinc.

Classic Minerals has received high-grade results from extensional drilling at its flagship Kat Gap gold project in the Goldfields region of WA as the company moves steadily closer to production at the site. Assay highlights include a 6m section going a solid 12.12 grams per tonne gold from 70m including a 1m hit at an impressive 51.1 g/t gold from 70m whilst a second hole returned a 10m intercept grading 9.26 g/t gold from 57m including 3m recording 28.3 g/t gold from 70m.

Shares in Aruma Resources soared more than 50 per cent higher during intraday trade after the company confirmed a string of impressive assay results from recent drilling at its Mt Deans project near Kalgoorlie with 12 strikes grading more than 1.5 per cent lithium-rubidium. The results sent the company’s share price on a tear to an intraday high of 8.2c from a previous close of 5.3 cents on the highest daily trading volume in nearly a year.

New assays from RC drilling at Surefire Resources' Victory Bore deposit in WA’s Mid West have delivered extensive vanadium mineralisation the company says could rate it amongst the country’s best. The work follows the discovery of three parallel mineralised lodes including broad intercepts of up to 56m at 0.48 per cent vanadium oxide with Surefire looking to build on the site's already monstrous 151 million tonne resource.

CZR Resources is a step closer to production at its Robe Mesa iron ore project after receiving mining approval from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for two of the site’s key deposits. The approval has been granted for the company’s Robe Mesa and P529 deposits that respectively sit north and south of Rio Tinto’s Mesa F project around 120km from Karratha in the Pilbara region of WA.

ASX-listed Neometals’ joint venture Primobius has expanded a technology and battery recycling JV option agreement with leading steel producer Stelco Holdings to allow it time to buy into its lithium-ion battery special purpose vehicle. The amendment follows a 2021 agreement for the duo to establish a long-term commercial recycling relationship in North America – one of the fastest growing sectors in terms of lithium-ion battery production.

Strickland Metals is pressing ahead with plans to spinoff its base metals assets into a new company to seek better value for the projects whilst focusing on its prospective gold package in central WA. The company has also gained heritage clearance to drill at its Iroquois project, which along with its Bryah Basin assets will be the centerpiece of the new operation.

Lindian Resources has received its first assays from the company’s maiden campaign at its Kangankunde project in Malawi showing continuous rare earths mineralisation from surface across the length of both holes. Assay highlights include a 1m section recording an outstanding 11.8 per cent total rare earth oxide, or “TREO” from 13m with a second 1m section going 11.1 per cent TREO from 12m.

ASX listed Estrella Resources has completed the mining and crushing phase of its nickel sulphide extraction program using ore from its 5A nickel mine near Kambalda in WA. The company plans to treat the high-grade material at Glencore’s Murrin Murrin facility after sealing an offtake and processing agreement late last year.

ASX-listed Okapi Resources has reinforced its uranium footprint in the United States after securing full ownership of 45 new mining claims and one State Mineral lease in Colorado. The acquisition stretches the boundaries of the company’s Maybell uranium project where historical production tipped the scales at 5.3 million pounds of triuranium octoxide running a solid average grade of 1300 parts per million.

Neometals has extended a deal with Scandinavian battery metals firm Critical Metals until the end of February to give the company time to secure an increased vanadium source deal using by-product from Nordic steelmaker SSAB. A joint venture between Neometals and Critical Metals on its proposed vanadium recovery project is also progressing.

Adriatic Metals has drawn down the first $30m tranche from a $142.5m debt package to keep the wheels spinning on its Vares silver mine development in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project has passed the halfway mark of construction, is fully-funded and is on track to begin processing by September 2023. The company is also committing to legacy projects in a once-thriving nearby community.

Goldfields explorers Brightstar Resources and Kingwest Resources have agreed to merge in a move to consolidate the gold assets of each company and bring their combined operations a step closer to production. The agreement has been made through a scheme of arrangement under which Brightstar will acquire 100 per cent of the shares in Kingwest.

Asra Minerals has set up future revenue streams and a carbon credit plan in the Goldfields after completing the full ownership of its Tarmoola Pastoral Station about 25km northwest of Leonora in WA. Infinity Mining has been granted a five-year extension to an exploration licence that is part of the company’s Panorama project in the Pilbara region of WA. The extension also includes two other adjoining tenements and has a new expiry date of 20 November 2027. Future exploration of the project is currently being planned with data to come from an earlier helicopter electromagnetic survey.

Auric Mining has recorded multiple nickel intercepts from its latest drilling program at the company’s Chalice West project that it says shows potential for nickel sulphide mineralisation at the site. The explorer has already identified a 7km magnetic feature linked with anomalous rare earths in addition to a 5km strike length gold anomaly at the project 50km from Norseman.

Infinity Lithium Corporation will continue moving ahead with plans to submit a direct mining licence application for its San José lithium project in Spain after a decision from the Contentious Administrative Court in Cáceres confirmed that is the most suitable path forward. Following the termination of the its Investigation Permit Valdeflorez the company says it will now proceed with an alternative process to a mining licence and one in which it already has the backing of the regional government.

Kairos Minerals has struck rich tantalum deposits going as much as 2143ppm during a lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatite-focused drill campaign at its Mt York gold project next to Pilbara Minerals' Pilgangoora lithium mine. The results further a possibility to extract more than just gold from the 1.1-million-ounce resource in the mineral-rich region.

Chimeric Therapeutics says it has successfully completed the planned medicating of its third dose cohort as part of its study evaluating the safety of the company’s CHM 1101 cell therapy to treat glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is a rare but deadly aggressive cancer that can occur in the spinal cord or brain. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the treatment and establish recommended dosing for a phase 2 trial.

Heavy rare earths player Northern Minerals has appointed GR Engineering Services and MACA Interquip to conduct early phase engineering and design work for its proposed commercial-scale beneficiation plant at Browns Range, in the north of WA. The company considers the operation’s Wolverine resource to be amongst the nation’s highest-grade dysprosium and terbium orebodies and says the looming award of the contract is a key step in updating its definitive feasibility study for a full-scale processing hub.

Xanadu Mines has signed a non-binding gas offtake memorandum of understanding with Jade Gas Holdings for commercial gas sales to power the copper explorer’s Kharmagtai project in Mongolia. The deal is designed to secure a reliable, low cost and cleaner energy source for Xanadu’s Kharmagtai copper-gold project using gas from Jade’s TTCBM project only 80km away.

Ora Banda Mining has secured funding support from shareholder Hawkes Point Holdings to continue developing its Riverina underground operation including exploration, resource development and capital expenditure. Hawkes Point is the gold producer’s largest shareholder and will provide Ora Banda with an unsecured loan of $11 million towards work at the project near Kalgoorlie.
