Oil explorer 88 Energy has confirmed it has multiple targets waiting to be tested at Project Phoenix once the Alaskan winter operation season begins in October. While the company waits to get boots on the ground, it plans to comb over scores of mud gas isotubes and wireline data in a bid to get a better understanding of the project’s composition.

Lindian deal to unlock bauxite assets value in Guinea

Lindian Resources has inked a supply deal with a new partner flush with cash. The company has revealed a six-year agreement with C&D Logistics, which will see it supply 23 million wet metric tonnes of bauxite from its Gaoual project in Guinea. Kicking off in 2025, the supply agreement requires annual negotiation on price, quantity, product quality, payment terms and delivery details.

Codrus fires up rigs in hunt for critical minerals

ASX-listed Codrus Minerals has kicked off its maiden hunt for critical minerals with 2000m of RC drilling at its niobium-rich Karloning project in WA making the company a first mover to explore exclusively for rare earths in the area. After a successful reconnaissance exploration program last year, Codrus is keen to push deeper into the earth and test the potential of the Karloning project.

88 Energy hits the pay zone at Alaskan oil project

ASX-listed oiler 88 Energy has hit the pay zone after successfully drilling at its Alaskan Hickory-1 oil well. After reaching a total depth of 3,246 metres and through all levels, the explorer discovered a new oil reservoir as it hunts for a potential billion-barrel resource. The news sent the share price 33 per cent higher by the close of day’s trading.

Everest fieldwork pushes it closer to capturing WA lithium project

With mapping now completed, new outcropping identified and geophysics kicking off before a diamond drilling campaign next quarter, Everest Metals is getting closer to full ownership of its Mt Edon project in WA. The company says its most recent mapping program, covering over 192.4 hectares, delivered another surprising exploration windfall, with several new lithium-ceasium-tantalium pegmatites and quartz bearing veins identified this time, all of which were not previously known to the company before.

Octava sharpens focus on potential Kimberley sulphide system

Octava Minerals believes it may be on the cusp of proving up a significant nickel sulphide orebody in the wake of finding high-grade mineralisation from deep drilling at its JV project in WA’s Kimberley. The company’s project partner, Future Metals, has reported the discovery of high-grade platinum group metals that is believed to extend “well beyond” its 6.9-million-ounce mineral resource.
