Marianne is Executive General Manager Commonwealth Private, at the Commonwealth Bank. Commonwealth Private offers personalised services that include advice, banking and investment opportunities for high net worth clients and their families. It has offices across Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Prior to this role Marianne was Executive General Manager for Wealth Management Advice, where she was responsible for the industry’s third largest advice network. This network includes employed advisers in Commonwealth Financial Planning and Bankwest Financial Advice and self-employed advisers in Financial Wisdom and Count Financial.
Marianne joined the Commonwealth Bank Group as General Manager of Distribution at Colonial First State in January 2010. Prior to this, she was at Count Financial Limited for 11.5 years. Over this time she was an Executive Director, and then in August 2006 was appointed Chief Executive Office and Managing Director. At the time this made her the youngest female CEO of an ASX listed company.
Marianne holds directorships across a number of CBA Wealth Management trustee boards, which oversee financial advice and CBA’s Private Bank. She is a member of the FSC’s Advice Board Committee and the ABA’s Financial Advice Strategy Group. Since May 2014 she has been a Director and Trustee of FPA’s Future2 Foundation.
Marianne has Bachelor of Economics with a Business Law major from Macquarie University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
