Fabio Suffell

Fabio was born in Zimbabwe and relocated to Australia in 1985, where he completed his education at Hampton Senior High School. His initial career was as an electrician with Otis, repairing elevators and escalators around the city.

His passion for technology emerged in 1999 when he served as District Governor of the Wheat Belt district of Apex Australia. Recognizing how technology could improve his efficiency and communication, Fabio helped his father-in-law transition to a Windows-based system to tackle the Y2K problem (yes, Y2K was indeed real). The satisfaction of planning and implementing this project led him to start Intelligent Products, a part-time business providing hardware and setup services to small businesses in Perth.

In 2010, Intelligent Products merged with Uptime Solutions to form Qbit (www.qbit.com.au) with a small team of nine, marking the beginning of their journey. Today, Qbit has grown to nearly 50 staff members and serves 350 customers. Their focus is on offering exceptional service, proactive support, and reliable solutions to enhance staff productivity. Their vCIO services have identified many areas for business process improvements and cost savings.

Fabio’s vision to underpin the Exceptional Service and Reliable mantra with proven processes has seen Qbit become ISO9001 Quality Assurance Certified. With Cyber Security at the forefront of every business and Qbit’s absolute focus to protect its clients Fabio and Dave then moved to become ISO27001 certified and be a leader in the Managed Services space so that Qbit clients would know their information and data is secure with Qbit.

Qbit supports all industries but has expertise in Mining, Accounting, Medical, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Not for Profit, and Mining Services. Fabio is committed to making a positive impact on the environment, demonstrated by Qbit's investment in solar energy and their car fleet, over 60% of which consists of electric vehicles. Qbit is also committed to the giving back to the local community and Fabio  has been heaving involved in the MND Drive entering a car each year from 2019 raising over $50,000 so far.

Fabio with his wife Melanie has two daughters and has supported them in their sporting teams in both Softball and Baseball and sponsoring both Softball WA and Baseball WA by sponsoring their IT and telecommunications requirements. Fabio is committed to family, business, staff and ensuring that at each stage he delivers on his promises.

Over the next 24 months both Fabio and Business News are looking forward to the information and insights Fabio will provide Business News members and readers into the realm of IT and Cyber Security.
