Alok Kumar Mehta

Shri Alok Kumar Mehta has over 35 years of experience in iron ore mining, iron & steel production, and the copper Industry; with experience gained in India and abroad.

Mr Mehta began his career in India in 1983 with Hindustan Copper before joining Saurastra Chemical, Porbander in 1993. He has also worked for Aditya Birla group at Birla Copper Dahej, and has significant experience in Australia in 2003 where he was responsible for the construction of the Mount Garden Plant in Queensland.

Mr Mehta was the commercial director of NMDC, with responsibilities including the commissioning of the 3.0 MTpa Steel Plant at Nagarnar, until his retirement in October 2021. Prior to becoming NMDC's commercial director, he was the executive director responsible for the execution of all the engineering, contracts and project activities. He was also on the boards of its 3 subsidiaries and one joint venture company.

Mr Mehta graduated from NIT Raipur with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
