Independence exceeds production

Exploration and mining company Independence Group has exceeded guidance for production of nickel, zinc and copper at its Long and Jaguar operations.

Jaguar exceeded guidance in copper production by 28.2 per cent and zinc by 1.6 per cent, although zinc guidance had been revised down significantly from original projections.

Long bettered its target for nickel production by 8.4 per cent.

Earlier this year, Business News reported that former PMI Gold Corporation executive Peter Bradford would lead Independence as managing director in March.

“This is an excellent result by our operational teams at Jaguar and Long and by the AngloGold Ashanti operational team at Tropicana,” Mr Bradford said.

“We are especially pleased by the strong quarterly production at Jaguar where record tonnage were put through the processing plant during the June quarter.”

Independence traded at $4.67, up 2.4 per cent at the time of writing.
